HIV/AIDS Initiatives

Shell Pakistan and Ghadeer Consultants have partnered together to bring about positive behaviour and attitudinal changes towards HIV/AIDS.

HIV/Aids Team

In Pakistan, the gradual but perilous spread of HIV has been a disconcerting issue for the last several years. Realizing the dire need for intervention, Shell Pakistan Limited has been actively playing a crucial role in creating awareness and reducing the stigma attached to the disease.

Furthermore, Shell has implemented several activities, and performed a range of duties such as organizing events, ensuring participation of staff of regional offices, depots, contractors and host community, ensuring adequate space and privacy for counselling and testing, and engaging key media personnel to raise awareness.

In 2009, Shell Pakistan’s HIV/AIDS program was recognized as one of the best programs in Shell Group.

This year, Ghadeer Consultants and Shell Pakistan have partnered together to bring about positive behaviour and attitudinal changes towards HIV/AIDS. From January to March 2010, Shell Pakistan’s main emphasis has been on raising awareness in high-risk areas such as Karachi and Mahmood Kot.
