Liquefied natural gas
Liquefying natural gas for transport helps to open up new resources.
Scientists believe CO2 emissions must fall by at least 50% by 2050 to avoid serious climate change, even as energy demand rises. Meeting this challenge will take efforts by consumers, industry and governments. Shell believes an international framework that puts a price on CO2 is also vital. We are contributing in several ways, including opening up sources of cleaner-burning natural gas. We are also involved in planned projects to capture CO2 from power plants and industry and store it safely underground. We are exploring opportunities to invest in low-carbon biofuels and helping to develop advanced biofuels for the future.
Distributing and developing biofuels, a potentially lower-carbon alternative to conventional transport fuels.
